INTERMITTENT FASTING AND GROWTH HORMONE

Human Growth Hormones (HGH) is a naturally occurring hormone produced by the pituitary gland and plays a key role in growth, body composition, cell repair and poorly functioning metabolism. HGH also increases muscle growth, strength and exercise performance, repairs healthy tissue in the brain and other organs and helps you recover from injuries. HGH is also said to promote skin quality and appearance. It is said to slow down the aging process and treat age-related diseases.

Normal levels of HGH peak during puberty and gradually decrease with age. Diet and lifestyle choices can also significantly affect your HGH levels.

Growth hormones are known to be a counter-regulating hormone and are released during sleep. HGH together with cortisol and adrenaline increases blood glucose in the body by breaking down glycogen - so it counts the effect of insulin.

People who are overweight have lower levels of HGH but after losing significant weight, their levels can return to normal. Getting rid of excess body fat - especially around the abdomen - will optimize HGH levels and improve overall health. Optimal levels of HGH are especially important during weight loss, injury recovery and sports education.

Unfortunately, a low level of HGH in adults leads to higher levels of body fat, lower muscle growth and reduced bone mass.

How does intermittent fasting help growth hormones?

One of the biggest opinions about intermittent fasting is that you will decrease in muscle mass, but studies show that periodic fasting leads to a large increase in HGH levels. So you can lose weight and still maintain muscle mass.

Intermittent fasting is a great stimulus for HGH production. During periodic fasting, HGH levels are optimized in two main ways. First, it can help you lose body fat, which directly improves HGH production. Second, it will keep your insulin levels low for most of the day because insulin is released when you eat.

As insulin rises, it can interfere with your natural growth hormone production. So when you compare regular fasting and regular diets where you keep the calories, the intermittent fasting was four times better at maintaining muscle mass because there is a regular production of HGH throughout the day. This helps maintain mass for both muscles and bones.
